Job Description

Fernic Group Contracting is looking for a full time skilled carpenter with a diverse skillset to support our various small and medium projects throughout Edmonton.

As a general contractor, Fernic Group’s involvement begins at the earliest stages of design through to client occupancy. The right candidate will ensure safety, quality and production are met within the responsibilities given.

Job overview and responsibilities will include and not limited to:

  • Carpentry work on various projects including: backing, doors, framing and finish carpentry, foundation, formwork, hardware and general construction tasks
  • Able to safely use and maintain various small construction tools and equipment
  • Deficiency work not limited to: repairs and touch ups, small finish carpentry, adjusting doors, silicone and caulking
  • Load, unload, and identify construction materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations
  • Organized and able to prioritize your workload
  • Able to work well with little supervision
  • Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs
  • Perform other general labor duties as required
  • Work under pressure and tight deadlines

Qualification Requirements:

  • Be able to measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Minimum 2 years construction experience
  • Able to read and understand working drawings as they relate to work requirements and produce as-built drawings and/or sketches
  • Must be safety orientated, self-motivated and work well with others
  • Able to ensure that a high standard of housekeeping at work areas, equipment and supplies are maintained
  • Be able to work independently and as a team member
  • Flexible and “whatever it takes” attitude
  • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
