Position:
Paralegal, eDiscovery & Litigation Support
Purpose of the role:
In collaboration with the Litigation Support Team, this position assists with all aspects of eDiscovery and Litigation Support case management, building relationships with internal and external clients, and providing exceptional work product under the direction of the Co-Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and maintain knowledge of available litigation support systems and technology innovations in the marketplace to determine software trends and opportunities for improvement;
- Understand eDiscovery Analytics concepts and implement those technologies;
- Design, implement, update and maintain litigation databases and coordinate loading records;
- Provide support to lawyers regarding document searching, retrieval and reporting;
- Assist in advising lawyers on document collection, review and analysis of electronic evidence;
- Stage, process/extract data, image and conduct QC of output using SQL backed eDiscovery software;
- Supervise assignments using project management software and provide updates to lawyers;
- Prepare documents for production including coding, consistency checks, reporting and production exports;
- Coordinate tasks and provide instructions on print jobs, scanning, coding and all aspects of document production;
- Respond to urgent after-hours information requests;
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities;
- Provide Paralegal support on all files, including:
- Case project management, ensuring deadlines are met, expectations are managed and work product is exceptional;
- Communication with lawyers and file management tasks;
- Document review (relevance, privilege, redactions);
- Use advanced eDiscovery Analytics to increase efficiency and optimize processes;
- Implement TAR, Clustering, Concept Searching and other technology as appropriate;
- Issue coding and creating chronologies;
- Tracking and preparing undertakings and exhibit tables, including in electronic format;
- Transcript management, including issue coding of questioning transcripts and electronic linking in the transcripts, as well as assisting with transcript summaries;
- Assisting with trial and witness preparation; and
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Education & Qualifications:
- High school diploma required;
- Legal Assistant certificate or relevant experience;
- CEDS Certification an asset;
- Experience with Open Discovery (Ipro for Enterprise) and/or Relativity preferred; and
- Previous law firm experience required with Litigation and eDiscovery experience preferred.
