JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is an integral part of the overall day to day operation at our clinic Parr Medical Centre / Cityview Medical Centre. The receptionist is responsible for all formal interactions with patients and the overall success of the relationship between the Clinic and the Patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Open office in the morning, turning on computers, check phone/email messages
  • Answering the incoming telephone calls
  • Meet and greet in the office to ensure they are comfortable and seen in a timely manner
  • Register existing or new patients by creating patient charts
  • Sorting through office mail daily
  • Follow up rejected OHIP billings with patients or with service ontario
  • Using Oscar EMR to manage schedules, book appointments
  • Schedule and fax patient referrals to specialists
  • Sorting lab results, informing physicians and patients according to priority
  • Performing general office duties such as photocopying, faxing, scanning, and mailing
  • Print and organize promotional materials for office
  • Notifying patients of specialist appointments in timely manner
  • Scanning documents into patient charts
  • Keeping the clinic tidy and clean at all times

Experience required

  • Must have previous medical reception experience (Minimum 1 years)
  • Must have working experience with OSCAR EMR
  • Must know how to manage the clinic independently
  • Must have experience in helping doctors with prepping patients (taking vitals, pregnancy, urine test, blood, etc)
  • Phlebotomy / IM / Vaccination experience and certification must

Competencies and Additional duties:

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good understanding of product and service knowledge offered at the clinic
  • Computer skills necessary - MS Office suite, data entry, email, troubleshooting, documentation, supplies and inventory control
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to prioritize and seamlessly manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Highly effective organizational and communication skills

Education Required:

  • OSCAR EMR (preferred)
  • Phlebotomy / IM / Vaccination certification must
  • Medical receptionist diploma
  • Computer certification or diploma (preferred)
  • Typing skills of 55 wpm

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
