Interested in working at one of the leaders in the oil and gas industry in Canada?Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Instrumentation Monitor (Earthworks) to work a long-term contract at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands located in Fort McMurray, AB. In this role, you will assist in the oversight and quality assurance of Field Measurement in Geomechanics (FMGM) Monitoring.

- Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 6 days on, 6 days off

Responsibilities:
- Train and ensure quality and consistency from the field Instrumentation monitors
- Support field surveillance deliverables by actively reading instrumentation in the field to ensure scheduling compliance
- Oversee instrument maintenance procedures, specs, and documentation checks
- Provide guidance in the field ensuring quality compliance
- Communicate with Field Services Supervisors to discuss weekly plans, potential issues, support requirements and solutions in collaboration with Operations Supervision
- Mentor and assist the instrumentation monitors with understanding processes, specs, data quality and troubleshooting
- Attend meetings with the coordinator and facility engineers to discuss field and instrument performance issues or concerns
- Oversee related instrumentation documentation is completed, QA, organized, and input to the appropriate database systems. This will include all maintenance, conversion, and decommissioning documents
- Notify the Instrumentation Coordinator of instrument response or performance issues
- Ensure maintenance and functionality of instrumentation readout equipment
- Perform database maintenance checks
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
- Minimum Technologist Diploma in Geomatics, Environmental, Geological or Civil Engineering technology is required or relevant experience
- 4+ years of related earthwork experience is required
- Oil sands and/or mining experience is also a must
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Applications are also required
- Should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial for success in this role
- Must be local to Fort McMurray or willing to relocate
- Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
