Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Carpenter / Project Leader to join our team. You will work directly with our clients, designers and trusted subtrades to develop and construct amazing renovations and custom homes.

We are looking for someone with experience in running one or multiple jobs at a time. Someone who takes pride in his or her work, pays special attention to the smallest detail, but can keep the big picture in mind. Someone who can see and maintain quality in a project all the way through from beginning to end. Someone who is excited by the challenge of taking on things that are outside of their comfort zone.

You will be the critical link in the building process, joining our client’s expectations to our network of trusted subtrades and affiliates. You will oversee and organize subtrades, keep up our high-quality standards on site, maintain the schedule, order materials, manage other Kooger personnel on site, perform carpentry work as well as various other tasks. Much of your time will be communicating with our clientele, designers and subtrades.

-Be the Lead Carpenter / Project Leader for one or multiple projects at a time

Skills needed to win:

-Be organized, a construction site is an ever-changing organism. You need to be able to coordinate the days’ events as well as plan for tomorrow’s

-Proficiency in tools of the trade, and a variety of software programs like Excel, Word and the ability to learn scheduling programs (we use Buildertrend)

-10 years in the building industry and 5 years in Lead Carpentry role

-Top-notch communication skills, including the ability to present research and ideas clearly to clients, trade partners and Owner

-You must have a good understanding of the Ontario Building Code, and a desire to search out new technologies and best building practices

-You must have a valid driver’s licence
