SUMMARY:

We are currently recruiting for a motivated and experienced Journeyman Commercial Refrigeration Mechanic to join our Commercial team in Calgary, AB. We offer an excellent work environment, opportunities for advancement, and a full benefits package.

SALARY:

Journeyman rates are determined based on journeyman tenure. The range for journeymen is $51.39 to $62.67 (depending on supplemental rates/premiums).

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and installation of welded, threaded, and/or brazed refrigeration piping systems.
• Install refrigeration electrical control systems and repair as required.
• Perform installations, start-ups, inspection, and troubleshooting of refrigeration and compression systems, and the correction of system problems.
• Read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and manufacturer instructions to independently construct, assemble and install equipment.
• Demonstrate the highest level of customer service including prompt, friendly, competent, and ethical service.
• Work safely, observe all safety rules and regulations, and ensure a safe environment for others affected by the work.
• Work well as part of a group as we offer a strong team environment.
• Complete all paperwork and reports as required by the customer and Startec on a timely and consistent basis to help ensure invoicing is completed in a timely fashion.
• Perform all work in accordance with our Quality Control and Health & Safety program.

• Other duties that may arise during the performance of the job function.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic Ticket (Red Seal not mandatory but preferred)
• Minimum 5 years with Journeyman Ticket
• 2 + years of grocery store experience
• Large warehouse or production refrigeration experience
• Refrigeration rack experience or CO2 experience a bonus.
• High aptitude for research and learning.
• Intermediate computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer)
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
• Clean Driver's abstract
• Ability to work independently.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment medical and functional testing
• Drug & Alcohol tests are required.
• The ability to work out of town on a rotation basis may be required.
