We are currently seeking a Driver Recruiter to join our team at our Sudbury Terminal.

Summary

The Driver Recruiter will carry out all the day-to-day activities required for driver recruitment initiatives needed by the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcome prospective drivers who visit
  • Take driver requirement orders from Senior Recruitment Manager and post
  • Source potential drivers by cold calling, recruiting externally, building relationships with existing drivers, reviewing all applicants who applied through Email and online
  • Partake in industry events and activities
  • Travel to outlining areas to source potential drivers
  • Engage related businesses in a partnership that drive recognition and attract potential drivers
  • Build and maintain a network of drivers for future driver roles
  • Recommend and select recruiting method(s) to be used in campaign to meet demands
  • Develop and disseminate recruiting packages
  • Field calls from prospective drivers and follow up all leads
  • Conduct interviews, coordinate testing and complete reference checks on candidates
  • Coordinate orientation training
  • Ensure completion of all the hiring documents and open driver files including data entry of drivers e-file
  • Compile management reports
  • Complete initial follow up with new drivers
  • Maintain electronic file reporting, and track recruitment requests, fill time, amount of candidates, etc.
  • Attend off site recruiting initiatives at various local and rural events to increase company exposure.
  • Assist with deliveries in peak fright times at home terminal and at other terminals
  • Practices Safe work procedures
  • Assists as needed in other Driver Recruitment functions that support operations goals and objectives

Qualifications

Ideally, three years’ experience in recruitment within the distribution, logistics, or transportation field. Strong interpersonal skills that prosper business relationships with customers, candidates and potential candidates. Ability to multitask and prioritize with strong time management skills. Knowledge of all aspects of the transportation industry, including TL and LTL general freight preferred. Class 1 license preferred but not required. Hands on approach with the daily recruitment of drivers. Experience using all Microsoft office programs and applicant tracking software programs is considered beneficial.
