Job Opportunity at Local One Construction:

We are looking for an experienced metal roofing expert to join our growing team. As a Metal Roofing Expert, you will be responsible for installing and repairing metal roofs/siding on residential and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate must have a valid driver's license and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Responsible for Leadership, organization, communication, and production on one larger construction project. Current jobsite is 1yr+ with large jobs to follow.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Install and repair metal roofs to meet customer specifications
• Measure and cut metal roofing materials to fit roofs of various sizes
• Ensure all roofing work is completed safely and efficiently
• Communicate with customers to ensure their needs are being met
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines
• Providing guidance to general labourers and ensuring quality control.
• Materials management and distribution.
• Performing a range of general construction related tasks as assigned.
• Assisting with construction site building clean up.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in metal roofing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
• Carpenter ideally has 10 years construction experience.
• Takes safety seriously and is mindful of surroundings.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Proven leadership skills
• Positive attitude along with a lifelong commitment to learning and growth.
• A lead by example style with the ability to provide mentorship and training.
• Professional demeanor and able to meet the needs of our clients.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Read and comprehend construction blueprints, engineer’s drawings, and specifications.
• Have top quality and high standards.
• Attention to detail, the ability to comprehend construction assemblies.
• Ability to estimate, and order materials.

• A valid BC driver’s license

EXTRAS WE LIKE TO SEE:

• Carpentry apprentice or Red Seal Certificate in Carpentry is an asset;
• Previous experience working with multi-family framing and concrete is an asset;
• A valid First Aid certification.
• A current tele-handler (zoom boom) & man lift ticket is an asset.
• Able to operate a bobcat;
